ARTWORK

An eagle swoops down and deftly snatches a fish in its deadly claws before rocketing back up into the sky. A large Douglas Fir log, 6 feet in height and 20 feet long, shoots down the mountain on logger rails that lead to the timber mill. One lone man stands beside the log with only a long pole to use as a brake. These moments, and many more like them, are captured in the oil paintings on display at the studios. Of all the oil paintings, over 100 are of different species of birds. From the Bald Eagle to the Osprey, the paintings surround the second floor on canvases that range in size. Seventeen birds of prey were painted on large canvases in order to portray the bird’s natural size.
